    About Me

    My name is Marc Symonds and I've been facinated by the drums for as long as I can remember. I first started playing when I was 12 at Bream Silver Band when the rest of the band had had enough of me making appalling noises on brass instruments and eventually parked me on the drum stool.

     

    In my teens I taught myself to play electric guitar and over the last 40 years I have been in various bands playing either guitar or drums. My current project, Dead Anyway, gives me the chance to play both guitar and drums for recording and I play drums when we perform live. It's reawakened my passion for the instrument and I've spent the last 18 months studying under the expert tuition of Graham Twist & teaching at the Rhythm Hub. I have lots of experience playing live and working in studios and have toured extensively over the years as well as producing a number of albums on Logic Pro X.

    I also offer lessons in songwriting and production.

    DRUM LESSONS IN GLOUCESTER 7 DAYS A WEEK

     

    LOCATION

    Over the last year I have converted shipping containers into purpose built rehearsal and recording studios on Bristol Road in Gloucester GL1.

    I offer drum lessons from this location 7 days a week.

    There is ample free parking on site, a waiting room with toilets & free tea & coffee.

    EQUIPMENT

    I use electronic drum kits to teach on. You will learn on The Roland TD-50 - it's an amazing instrument with realistic feeling mesh heads and a whole array of incredible drum samples. The joy of learning on a high-end electronic kit like this is that we can turn things up and down. Learning to play can be exhausting on a 'proper' acoustic kit and ear defenders are a must. On an electric kit we can still practice all of the same techniques whilst being able to talk to each other during the lesson. This has been invaluable in helping to develop my students. I also have some wonderful sounding monitors and a PA so we can learn your favourite songs and play right along.

     30 MINS & 1 HOUR LESSONS AVAILABLE

     

    I specialise in beginner and intermediate tuition and offer 30 min sessions for £15 and hour long sessions for £30
